I “caught the bug” for bluegrass music after attending my first festival as a teenager. I started learning guitar right away, and I picked up the banjo the following year. Since then, I’ve played in many situations - from farmer’s markets to festival stages with my musical heroes, to square dances, even band competitions where I was so nervous I could hardly stand. And, I’d be remiss not to mention perhaps most importantly: the many, many jams I’ve enjoyed with friends, neighbors and strangers from all sorts of places.

In my time of playing, I’ve had the great privilege to be on various recording projects, learn from some amazing folks in the industry, and play with musicians that I deeply admire. Some of the folks I’ve played with include North Country Blue, Jesse Appelman’s West Coast Stringband Project, Laurie Lewis & Kathy Kallick, and Bitchcraft (or B*craft) Stringband. In addition to gigging, I enjoy teaching and calling dances, and I hope to have a solo project or two out sometime in the future. 

Music brings endless beauty and compassion into my life. The only thing better to me than being immersed in such a community is helping others find their way as well. I hope to honor this wonderful gift and share it with others in any way that I can.
